We tested AI Peeps on a free account
Fresh account, English interface, chatting with Megan Reese (we started with Sally, but her grim wasteland story could not tell us anything about the filter). Every figure below comes from our own session in an ordinary browser rather than from the platform's claims.
Free messages before the limit
30messages a day
A day: each day's first visit adds 30 chat messages (a check-in), then 3 PeepCoins a message.
The allowance is shared across the whole account rather than tracked per character. When we came back on 27 September, a banner read "+30 Chat Msgs added! Check-in every day for more" alongside 10 PeepCoins, and our next message was accepted. Fresh accounts also receive 60 PeepCoins, which buys roughly 16 to 20 extra messages at 3 coins apiece once the free 30 run out.

What AI Peeps is
AI Peeps combines character chat with media generation. It is operated by AI Peeps Lab di Biscione Valerio, a sole proprietorship based in Brescia, Italy, and has been developed largely by one person since it launched in August 2024. You can design your own characters, known as Peeps, with step-by-step menus or a complete prompt editor, or choose among more than 100,000 made by the community, and then talk by text, voice note or live voice. Several Peeps can share a group chat.
Adults 18 and over can keep things SFW or switch to uncensored roleplay. PeepCoins pay for most generation: 10 coins per image, 3 per voice message, and a variable amount for video depending on length and resolution. Free accounts receive 30 text messages a day and 50 PeepCoins a month, and subscriptions unlock unlimited text, a monthly coin allowance and better memory.
It is a good match if you want to build characters and also make images, video and voice at fairly low cost. The drawbacks are a coin system with a learning curve, no app outside the browser, and reliance on a one-person company.

Our fresh free account, tested on 26 Sep 2026, received 30 messages a day. The first visit of each day tops you up with 30 messages as a check-in reward, and after that each message costs 3 PeepCoins. The count covers your whole account, not each character separately. Returning on 27 September, we saw "+30 Chat Msgs added! Check-in every day for more" plus 10 PeepCoins, and the next message sent fine. The 60 PeepCoins that new accounts receive pay for roughly 16 to 20 more messages at 3 coins each once the free ones are used.
Is AI Peeps filtered on the free plan?
No filter got in our way during the 26 Sep 2026 test: on a free account, flirting, undressing and explicit sex were all possible. The language went explicit on the free tier, with the character taking it slowly. The first character we picked held on to her stern role and declined to flirt, which came from her script rather than any filter.
How much does AI Peeps cost?
The AI Peeps price is $8.99 if you pay monthly, or $7.49 a month when billed $89.88 for a year. We checked these prices in September 2026, so confirm them on the site before you pay.
