Privacy policy
Last updated 24 September 2026
This privacy policy covers ainsfw.tools. You never need an account here, and we try to gather the bare minimum. Below we set out what we collect, the reasons for it and the choices you have. The data controller is the team behind ainsfw.tools, and you can reach us at admin@ainsfw.tools.
Cookies and browser storage
- Age confirmation. A single cookie named "ag" records that you said you are 18 or over. It contains nothing personal and lasts one year.
- Taste. If you filter characters by gender or style, or open a character page, a cookie named "pref" stores that gender and style (for instance "female.anime") for 30 days, so similar characters come first in the Characters list. It contains nothing personal, and you can remove it from your browser settings whenever you like.
- Discreet mode. A cookie named "dm" is set only when you turn on the discreet mode switch in the menu, and it keeps that setting for one year.
- Google Analytics cookies appear only after you permit analytics, as explained further down.
- Browser storage. Your analytics decision, your latest searches and a record of ratings you have given are saved in your browser's local storage so the Site can display them to you again. They stay there and are not sent to us.
Our visit log
Each time a page loads in your browser, a small script lets our server know which page it was. We keep:
- the time and the page address, minus anything that follows a "?" (search terms, for example);
- the referring site if another site sent you, again with anything after a "?" removed;
- your country, which Cloudflare works out from your IP address;
- a brief browser and operating system label like "Safari/iOS" instead of the complete user agent;
- the language your browser prefers;
- a visitor code, created as a one-way hash of your IP address, your browser's user agent, the date and a secret key.
Because the visitor code is new each day, it cannot connect your visits from one day to the next, and we never store the IP address itself. This log relies on no cookies and no browser storage, and it skips requests from known crawlers and automated tools. Using the same daily code, it also records when you click through to a platform, leave a rating, post a review or submit a form. This helps us count visits and learn which pages are useful.
Outbound clicks
Platform links go through our own redirect. For every click we note the item, the page and button it came from, your country, your browser's user agent and a one-way hash of your IP address, so we can count referrals. Certain partner links also include that click's number and the button used, which lets the partner's affiliate network report back whether a sign-up or purchase followed; we keep that report alongside the click. We never ask networks for your name, email address or payment details. After you land on a platform, that platform's own privacy policy takes over.
Google Analytics, only with your consent
We ask for permission before loading Google Analytics 4. No Google code loads until you press Allow on the analytics banner, and none loads at all if you pick No thanks.
If you agree, Google Analytics places its own cookies ("_ga" and another beginning with "ga") to distinguish visits, and logs the pages you see, your time on them, how you reached the Site and technical details such as device type, browser, screen size, language and rough location. It can also capture actions like scrolling and clicks on links that lead elsewhere. We instruct Google to anonymise IP addresses, and Google says Google Analytics 4 neither logs nor stores them. Google handles this data under its own terms and may process it outside your country, the United States included. The reports show us which pages people find helpful.
Withdrawing consent: your choice sits in your browser's local storage under the name "ainsfw_consent". You can clear this site's data in your browser settings, which wipes both the stored choice and the Google Analytics cookies, or remove just the stored choice. On your next visit the banner will ask again, and Google Analytics stays off unless you allow it once more.
Ratings, reviews and forms
- Ratings. We keep your star rating plus a one-way hash of your IP address, which limits each person to one rating per item.
- Reviews. We keep the display name, rating, title, text, pros and cons you submit, that same hash, a second IP hash used to fight abuse, and your browser's user agent. A moderator approves each review before it goes live.
- Submissions and contact messages. We keep whatever you enter (name, page or website address, email if provided, message) and an IP hash used to fight abuse. We only use your email address to answer you.
These hashes cannot be reversed: they let us spot repeated requests without keeping the IP address. New reviews and messages reach us as an internal alert, either by email or via a private messaging channel, so we can moderate and respond.
Server and security logs
Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the Site, handles every request (IP address, user agent, page and time) to serve pages and stop attacks, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Our servers also keep technical logs for troubleshooting. Rate-limit counters store an IP hash and are removed after roughly one day.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, and we do not run ads from advertising networks. As with any link on the web, a platform you visit can tell that you came from this site, and partner links include the click number and button mentioned earlier. No other information about you is shared.
Legal bases and retention
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is legitimate interest for security, preventing abuse and counting visits and referrals, and your consent for Google Analytics. Reviews remain online until you ask us to take them down. Rate-limit records disappear after roughly one day. Visit and click records contain no names or IP addresses and are kept for as long as they help with these statistics and with checking partner payments.
Your rights
To find out what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or erased, or to object to how it is processed, email admin@ainsfw.tools. Since there are no accounts, please give us the display name or the page concerned so we can locate it. If you live in the EU or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Children
Only adults may use the Site. We do not knowingly gather data from anyone under 18; if you think we have, get in touch and we will erase it.
Changes
Any changes to this policy will appear on this page with a new date.
