Mostly because monthly billing is double the yearly rate (19.99 against 10.00 a month), with 50% and 75% savings badges pegged to a 39.99 reference price. Free use is limited too: messages spend 55 starting Cherries, free chats forget things after about 30 messages, and in-chat photos, custom prompts and video with sound require Premium. There is no published refund policy, and closing your account forfeits an active subscription and whatever Cherries remain.
