You can open a free account without a card, but it works as a starter trial with an unpublished usage cap (unlimited free chat was dropped in October 2025). When we tested on 26 and 27 September 2026, the trial stopped after roughly 12 messages with the notice "Freemium access beyond the starter trial has been permanently disabled". On the free model, basic characters replied in around 4 seconds, whereas a complex one froze. Paying removes the message cap. Reviews mention modest monthly image and voice allowances on free accounts, though the numbers vary from source to source. Trial: new accounts get a message-limited free trial with no card needed (per the official landing pages).
